Porcelain veneers

Traditional Veneers

Custom porcelain veneers are made of a razor-thin layer of porcelain that is bonded directly onto the surface of your tooth and molded to achieve the desired size and shape. In some cases, a thin layer of enamel may have to be removed to ensure a natural and smooth fit. Porcelain closely matches the color and texture of a natural tooth, making veneers a highly effective but subtle treatment for the cosmetic imperfections that diminish a smile over time.

Are Porcelain Veneers Right For Me?

Veneers are used in cosmetic dentistry to correct mild to moderate size, shape, spacing and stains caused by trauma or as a side effect of certain medications. The most common uses for porcelain veneers include:

  • Correct mild or moderate chips and cracks
  • Close small gaps and fix alignment issues (significant spacing and bite problems may require orthodontic treatment)
  • Change the size or shape of uneven teeth
  • Whiten intrinsic stains and discolorations that can't be removed with professional teeth whitening treatments.

Emax Crowns & Bridges

Emax crowns and bridges are a preferred option among many cosmetic dentists because of the overall combination of strength and beauty that can be achieved. Emax crowns lay on top of the teeth to appear translucent, which gives your smile a realistic, natural look while providing strength and resistance to chips and breaks. Emax bridges are a cosmetic alternative to traditional metal ceramic bridges in the smile zone.

Zirconia bridges are also a beautiful and strong alternative for bridges in the posterior of the mouth,  and in some cases the anterior as well, depending on the esthetic and strength requirements of the patient.

How Are They Placed?

In a typical procedure, the cosmetic dentist reduces the size of the tooth or teeth to make space for the porcelain crown. A digital or physical impression is taken to send to the lab for custom fabrication of the crown.

Depending on the complexity of your case, it can take a few weeks to be returned from the lab. In the meantime, the prepared teeth will have a temporary crown to protect them and to provide esthetics and function to the treated teeth. At your delivery appointment, the temporary will be removed and replaced with your porcelain crown.
