Are Porcelain Veneers Right For Me?

Veneers are used in cosmetic dentistry to correct mild to moderate size, shape, spacing and stains caused by trauma or as a side effect of certain medications. The most common uses for porcelain veneers include:

• Close small gaps and fix alignment issues (significant spacing and bite problems may require orthodontic treatment)

How Are They Placed?

In a typical procedure, the cosmetic dentist reduces the size of the tooth or teeth to make space for the porcelain crown. A digital or physical impression is taken to send to the lab for custom fabrication of the crown.

Depending on the complexity of your case, it can take a few weeks to be returned from the lab. In the meantime, the prepared teeth will have a temporary crown to protect them and to provide esthetics and function to the treated teeth. At your delivery appointment, the temporary will be removed and replaced with your porcelain crown.
